It’s a beautiful morning and since you have arrived at Chandigarh yesterday we hope you are well-rested and are ready to hit the road post breakfast.
We will start our journey towards Spiti Valley leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city and soaking into the aura of the scenic valleys and mountains along the road. Once we hit the Himalayan Expressway we will be heading towards Shimla which is the place from where we will be entering the region along with Himalayan mountain ranges. Further on the way we will be traveling along river Satluj and plan to halt for the night in either Rampur or Kalpa depending on the road and weather conditions.
Don’t worry we wouldn’t starve you to death today as we plan to halt along the way for lunch and snack breaks with our curated rest stops.
After a cozy night stay at Kalpa/Rampur, we will be heading towards the Indo-Tibetan highway known for its proximity to Tibet while witnessing the scenic beauty. As you travel towards Nako, the confluence of Spiti and Sutlej at Khab awaits your gaze along with a cup of tea.
After spending some time at Khab we will head to Nako, the last hamlet of Kinnaur district.
The sacred lake at Nako is the highest altitude manmade lake in the Kinnaur district and at this time of year, it’s frozen. Enjoy the ethereal beauty of the frozen Nako lake covered with pretty thick sheets of ice and snow-clad mountains at its backdrop.
Post lunch at Nako helipad, we will descend towards the destination of the day Tabo, and call it a day.
Today we start the day at ease, post a relaxing breakfast we start our day visiting a 1000+ years old Monastery. Located at the bottom of the valley unlike other monasteries in the Spiti region. Indulge yourself in the Buddhism troposphere while roaming around it.
From Tabo, we will move towards the Pin Valley at an altitude ranging from 11500 ft to 20000 ft nurturing different species of animals including snow leopards, birds, and a variety of rare plants with a frozen river by side.
En-route Kaza, we will also visit the last motorable village called Mudh and then reach Kaza by night to get recharged for a new day.
We will kick off the day with a drive to Ki Monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 13,668 ft above sea level, besides Spiti River. We recommend indulging sometimes by looking at the walls of this monastery covered with paintings, murals, and paintings of Buddha. Ki Gompa now belongs to the Gelugpa sector, along with Tabo and Dhankar Gompa. This monastery gives you glimpses of plains and frozen Spiti river and is the obvious choice for those who are in search of amity and seclusion.
Later, we will drive further towards one of the most scenic villages, Kibber. Located at 14200 ft above sea level this was once the highest altitude village in the world and it also serves as the base camp for many adventurous treks along the mountainsides.
This circuit is also home to Chicham Bridge, the highest bridge in Asia, an amazing spectacle at a stunning height of 13596 ft which connects Kibber and Chicham Village. Enjoy some mesmerizing vistas here on our way back to Kaza. Explore Kaza village on foot on an evening stroll and let’s then close the day at our accommodation post-dinner.
Today is a fun-filled day when we explore places around Kaza. This includes a visit to Komik which is now the highest motorable village in Asia.”. Pristine scenery, snow-capped peaks, and barren landscapes adorn this place. It houses quite a few families and a monastery.
Later, we will move to the highest functional Post office in the world at Hikkim and do take time to send beautiful postcards to your friends and families which will reach them after you reach home.
Post lunch will head towards the Langza village located at an altitude of 4400 meters. This village houses a population of approx..137 whose main livelihood is agriculture.
Its main attraction is the huge Golden Buddha statue overlooking the valley and mud houses. One can stroll around the white icy village and visit Lang temple which is claimed to be 1000 odd years old and guards the entire valley. From here we will head back to Kaza to stay back for the night.
After spending the last few days in White Spiti, it’s time to start our return journey of this exploratory expedition and head back to Kalpa/Rampur.
Post breakfast it’s time to bid adieu to the snow-clad mountains as we head back to civilization i.e. towards Chandigarh. If we reach early, let’s celebrate our successful excursion all in Punjabi style in a Dhaba on the highway and stay back at our accommodation for the night.
We know goodbyes are difficult and this one is no different, and as we know every good thing comes to an end we will be glad to drop you at the airport for your onward journey back home.
And to be true it’s not really a goodbye we know at TripWeiser that we will meet you soon on another adventure.
So till then “Fir Milenge” and “Alvida”.
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.
It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however.
